Delivering comprehensive cancer treatment in Warrnambool

South West Regional Cancer Centre (SWRCC) is a new, integrated cancer centre in Warrnambool. Epworth HealthCare manages the centre and its radiotherapy services on behalf of the State of Victoria. South West Healthcare provides public chemotherapy services and South West Oncology delivers patient care and cancer services at SWRCC.

Our services and facilities

Our integrated, cancer care model delivers an exceptional level of patient care. Epworth HealthCare provides radiotherapy treatment for up to 500 patients per year. South West Healthcare moved their Chemotherapy Unit into the centre to deliver chemotherapy on site. The centre is equipped with:

  • Chemotherapy Unit with coastal views
  • two radiotherapy bunkers
  • Varian TrueBeam radiation treatment machine (linear accelerator)
  • CT scanner
  • cancer support services at Peter’s Project Support Centre
  • private consulting suites
  • complementary therapies

Peter’s Project Community Support Centre

The South West community raised $5M towards the centre, led by Peter’s Project. To recognise the community’s involvement, the building includes a dedicated Peter’s Project Community Support Centre providing free cancer support services. The centre is open to all members of the community.

Building a cancer care community

Consulting suites are available for medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and other specialists to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment. Complementary therapies will also be available to patients onsite.

Radiation Oncology treatment costs

Radiation Oncology is operated as a public service with no costs to patients.


Parking

Parking is available free of charge in spaces designated for SWRCC patients. Enter off Worland Grove and park in designated bays. A parking pass will be issued by SWRCC reception. Visitors to the centre can park in the car park opposite SWRCC entering off Ryot street, or on street parking.
